Surface-active contaminants of the test liquids can strongly falsify your measurements of the contact angle and the surface free energy (SFE) with the MSA. Check the purity of test liquids using surface tension (SFT) and extend the traceability of your quality processes. With the novel, accurate Constrained Sessile Drop method and the SH3900 accessory, single drops dispensed onto special sample pedestals are sufficient for this purpose.
Simply place the MSA in the precisely fitting holder with recessed wells for the pedestals. Then generate and analyze the drops. If the quickly available SFT results are close to the literature values, you are on the safe side for the subsequent contact angle measurements.
For the MSA Flexible Liquid, the Constrained Sessile Drop provides you with extended evaluation options. In addition to the contact angle with the solid, also measure the SFT of your dispensed liquid and obtain a complete picture of the wetting process that takes into account the properties of both components.
Included with SH3900 are 10 sample pedestals (reorderable as SH3200) and tweezers for their easy and contamination-free placement.
